Responding to Comments - How to

I think I figured it out.

When someone takes the time to leave me a comment I always want to answer.  But replying to a comment just posts back to the comment list and unless the person who left the comment comes back they do not see it.  (Does that make sense?)

So in Blogger I changed the setting to send me an email when someone leaves a comment and I can just reply back.  There email is included.  YEAH!

Doing the happy dance!

How?

If you would like to change your setting to send you an email when someone comments here are the steps:

Go to your blog and go to design
Click on settings, comments
Scroll down to comment notification email and add the email address you want the comments sent to

Painting the furniture

The sewing machine is put away and now I have started some small painting projects.

It's too cold in the garage...so I have been painting in my foyer because it is big and open and has great light.  Also it's sort of out of the way.  We don't use the front door much.

I had a couple of these cheap little tables to try out first.  First tried spray paint.  Didn't like so well and I didn't sand and prime properly before starting.  So I brush painted and added some poly.

Current projects are an old mirror and little table that I have.  The mirror belongs in the dining room.  My table is cherry and I have a sideboard and china cabinet (being stored because of no room) in there now.

If these two paint jobs turn out OK I am thinking of painting the sideboard.  It was my great-grandmothers.  I hope painting it is not a disgrace but it is looking kind of tired and painting may bring it back to life.  I like the mix of darkwook with white painted pieces.

What does everyone think?
Paint or not?

Copy Me Challenge Link Party

Tonight is Miss Mustard Seeds Copy Me Challenge Link Party!

I am entering my drop-cloth slipcovers.  I am a new blogger and fell in love when she slip-covered her sofa and beautiful French chairs with drop-cloths.  Who would have thought to use drop-cloths?  I had to definitely try that out.  So I gave slip-covering a shot.  I slip-covered a chair that we use at our desk and added ruffles to tailor the bottom.

Then I took a round Ballard table and cut it off to make shorter and created a new skirt for it - out of drop-cloths.

Love this material.  Pretty soon everything will be slip-covered in drop-cloths.  She was right!
Thank you MMS for the tip and the inspiration!

Trying out my signature

Found some cool FREE fonts and great tutorials at Kevin and Amanda's blog

but I was really trying to find a way to get a pretty signature added to my posts and found this at Moms Who Blog

so easy and I like it.

My previous posts signature I had created with photoshop and I got tired of trying to get the frame off of the signature but leave on the images.

Now I have to work on the Blog Title area.

Finished Bake Sale Goodies

Are you ready for Valentines Day?

Was asked to donate 2 dozen bake sale items for the school bake sale tomorrow.  So I did some inspiration surfing and posted these.

So guess what I did this morning.

Hope they enjoy!

Today's post is from my inner geekness !

Wow!  Overnight I have new friends (followers)!  Thank You.
Many thanks to Debbie-doo's party for all of us new bloggers.

I was distraught over not being able to keep up with the comments.  What a nice problem to have.  My problem was that I wanted to comment back to everyone but how do you do that with blogger?  There is no reply to comment.  So I did what I tell my son to do....Go ask Google.

I think the pillow needs a ruffle.

I found this great "How-To"  http://www.spiceupyourblog.com/2010/03/reply-button-option-blogger-comments.html and now I have a reply comment on my blog!

Next up ... create a pretty signature for my blog posts.
